Description

The Clerk of the Board is a duly elected official who provides direct administrative support to the Board of County Commissioners (Board). The powers and authority vested in the Clerk of Miami-Dade County's Eleventh Judicial Circuit and County Courts are defined in the Florida Constitution. As structured, the Clerk provides checks and balances in County Government and presides as the County's public trustee. In his capacity as ex-officio to the Board, the Clerk exercises authority over the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, the County Recorder, the Value Adjustment Board, the Marriage License Bureau, Code Enforcement, Parking Violations, and Records Management. In 2015 the Clerk of the Board earned approximately $230,000 during the year.

Application Guidelines
1) Contact the Miami-Dade Elections Department to confirm that your registered address qualifies you for the position you intend to run for, and that you meet other office specific qualifications. 2) Complete the nonpartisan qualifying papers and submit the nonpartisan qualifying papers to the Miami-Dade Elections Department. The qualifying papers must be accompanied by either a qualifying fee or petition papers in lieu of a qualifying fee. 3) Submit the qualifying papers accompanied by either the qualifying fee or petition papers, which are due to be certified 28 days prior to the qualifying period, during the stipulated qualifying times, which can be found here: http://www.miamidade.gov/elections/library/qualifying-handbook/qualifying-dates.pdf
