Description

The Nevada State Board of Education is composed of eleven members. Four members are elected from the four congressional districts in Nevada, and seven members are appointed. The Nevada State Board of Education acts as an advocate for all children and sets the policy for public schools that allows every child equal access to educational services. The overall goal of the Nevada State Board of Education is to be an institution for Nevada children that prepares them for success in terms of job readiness, graduation, ability to be lifelong learners, problem solvers, and contributing members of society.

Application Guidelines
1) Contact the Clark County Registrar of Voters (or the Board of Elections in the Nevada county of which you legally reside) to confirm that your registered address qualifies you for the position you intend to run for, that you meet other office specific qualifications and inquire as to if the application has a fee. 2) Arrange for receipt (by picking up in person or picking up at a local community center) Clark County Registrar of Voters. Many times you can speak with an elections administrator in person when picking up filing papers, which is an excellent time to ask any questions with staff. 3) File the application with the Clark County Registrar of Voters between March 7th, 2016 and March 18th, 2016, and you will appear on the ballot.
