Description

In accordance with state law, the Public Administrator is an elected position that ensures that the property of a decedent is safeguarded when the Coroner or law enforcement requests the assistance of the Public Administrator’s Office when they respond to a death and are unable to immediately locate a family member or cannot locate any known heirs. When acting as Administrator of the Estate, the Public Administrator may pay funeral and burial expenses from available estate funds, within the ability of the estate to pay, and in accordance with the decedent’s wishes or as provided through Clark County Social Service.

Application Guidelines
1) Contact the Clark County Registrar of Voters to confirm that your registered address qualifies you for the position you intend to run for, that you meet other office specific qualifications and inquire as to if the application has a fee. 2) Arrange for receipt (by picking up in person or picking up at a local community center) Clark County Registrar of Voters. Many times you can speak with an elections administrator in person when picking up filing papers, which is an excellent time to ask any questions with staff. 3) File the application with the Clark County Registrar of Voters between March 5th, 2018 and March 16th, 2018, and you will appear on the ballot.
