Description

The District Attorney is the chief law enforcement officer in the City and County of Denver, and is responsible for prosecuting all of the felonies, misdemeanors and serious traffic offenses committed in the city. The mission of this office is to professionally and completely prosecute crimes and investigate potential crimes on behalf of the people of the State of Colorado and in doing so, do justice, advocate victims' rights and advise and consult in the deterrence and prevention of crime; to ensure the open, evenhanded and humane administration of justice. There are 75 attorneys and approximately 125 support staff working on behalf of the citizens of Denver. Under the leadership of Denver District Attorney the office maintains two priorities: prosecuting criminals to the fullest extent possible, and protecting the rights and interests of innocent victims. The starting salary for the District Attorney is $130,000.

Certain positions have residency and other requirements. 2) Fill out the necessary documents, including the Acceptance of Designation by Assembly, Certification of Designation by Assembly, and Acceptance of Petition of Nomination. The office is open Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm CST. Be mindful about the filing window as it is open for only a certain number of consecutive days sometime in August, and the dates vary based on the election date.
