Description

The District is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors who hold office for staggered terms of four years. The unique issues brought before the Board of Supervisors each month are often complex and difficult. Board members represent a diverse cross-section of Central Florida and that diversity continues to serve the District well as decisions are made relating to infrastructure financing, growth management and numerous other aspects of the administration of the broad scope of District responsibilities.

Application Guidelines

In order to be a candidate for this position, please follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the election administrator (for city municipalities, contact the city clerk, and for all other offices, contact the Orange County Supervisor of Elections) make sure you qualify for the position. Certain positions have residency and other requirements. 2) Fill out the necessary documents, including the Statement of Candidacy (DS-DE 84 form), and Candidate Oath of Nonpartisan Office (DS-DE 25) and Appointment of Campaign Treasurer and Designation of Campaign Depository form (DS-DE 9). During the qualifying period, you must pay a candidacy fee. The office is open Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm EST. Be mindful about the filing window as it is open for only five consecutive days sometime in January, and the dates vary based on the election date. The filing window for this position has yet to be determined, make sure to verify the filing period with the City Clerk.
