Description
School Board Members establish a shared vision for the schools that they represent which reflects a consensus of the board, community and district staff. The school board has a wide variety of additional responsibilities, such as adopting annual budgets and issuing interim financial reports, adopting the school calendar, negotiating contracts with employees (including the hiring of superintendents), approving curriculum materials and closing or constructing schools.

This can be found at http://www.cocovote.us/campaigns/candidate-filing/. Verify that you qualify for the position. You must be a U.S. Citizen and be a registered voter for at least 30 days within the district and qualified to vote for that office. 2) Complete the appropriate forms in the Candidate Application Packet. Candidates for School District positions include forms for the filing fee, declaration of candidacy, ballot designation, candidate statement of qualifications, statement of economic interests, and campaign finance disclosure. 3) Submit these forms within the filing window to the Contra Costa County Election Division 555 Escobar St. P.O.
