Ventura County Community College District Trustee, Area 3

Description

The Ventura County Community College District is governed by a five-member locally elected Board of Trustees and a student board member. The five trustees are elected in even-numbered years to four-year terms by the voters of Ventura County. The Board of Trustees is responsible for adopting policies that direct all activities relating to conducting the business of the district and its colleges. The Chancellor, the districts chief executive officer, is responsible for carrying out policies approved by the Board of Trustees.

Application Guidelines

To file for this position follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the Ventura County Elections Division office at (805) 654-2664 to verify that your address qualifies for the position and that you meet any other candidacy requirements (for example, living within the district for a specified amount of time prior to the election). 2) Obtain the correct filing papers from the county elections office. They may also be available at the City Clerks office. It is understood that first time or beginning candidates may need someone to review the paperwork with them, so it is useful to stop by the office in person during normal business hours, or arrange a time that you can speak with someone while picking up the filing papers.
