Description

The board's primary responsibilities are to set policy for the school division, approve the annual budget, develop a strategic plan, and hire a superintendent to operate the school division in accordance with board policy. The Falls Church City School Board is comprised of seven members who serve four-year terms.

Verify that you qualify for the position. You must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia for one year immediately preceding the election, and be resident of the City oFalls Church at the time of filing. Contact the clerk of the school board to confirm that you are qualified for the position. 2) Complete the appropriate filing papers, which can be found on the Department of Elections website herehttp://www.elections.virginia.gov/candidatepac-info/candidate-forms/index.html. School Board candidates must complete the Certificate of Candidate Qualification, the Declaration of Candidacy form, the Petition of Qualified Voter form, the Statement of Economic Interests form, and the Statement of Organization form. 3) Submit these forms after January 1st of the election year and before the filing deadline in June to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections for Falls Church: 300 Park Ave Rm 101 E Falls Church, VA 22046-3301.
