Description

The County of San Francisco Assessor-Recorder is responsible to direct and coordinate all tax assessment activities of the city and county and the legal and administrative processes necessary to the preparation of the annual tax rolls and the collection of tax revenue. The assessor-recorder directs and coordinates the activities of the office with other municipal, state and federal agencies. The assessor also prepares the departmental budget and the approval of subsequent expenditures of funds. The minimum yearly salary of this position is $187,094 per year.

You should also verify that you meet any other requirements (for example, living within the district for a specified amount of time prior to the election). Most county elections departments understand that first time candidates may have some additional questions or concerns, and they will answer questions when you are picking up your paperwork, or will allow you to schedule an appointment to speak with someone. 2) Obtain the appropriate filing papers from the county elections office and complete the paperwork required. If there is any difficulty in connecting with this office, contact the California Secretary of State's Elections Division at (916) 657-2166 or http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections to help obtain the correct contact information for your county elections department. 3) Submit the candidacy papers within the 113-88 day filing window prior to the election. If you have any questions regarding running for this position, contact the San Francisco Board of Elections at (415) 554-4375 or http://sfgov.org/elections/ or the California Secretary of State Elections Division as soon as possible. For this position there is a filing fee of $500, however if 1,000 signatures are gathered, the fee is waived. The filing fee is reduced by .50 for each valid signature gathered and signatured must be submitted within the specified window. The period for submitting petitions in lieu of the filing fee is 6/3/2016 to 7/26/2016.
