Description
The Connecticut Comptroller is an elected statewide executive officer in the Connecticut state government. The comptroller manages the state's accounts payable, performs cost accounting and financial reporting of the state government's activities, and monitors the compliance of other state agencies with accounting procedures.The comptroller is charged with "adjust[ing] and settl[ing] all public accounts and demands, except grants and orders of the general assembly." Additionally, he is directed to "prescribe the mode of keeping and rendering all public accounts." In practice, the comptroller manages the state's centralized accounts payable system, performs financial accounting for state agencies and major programs, and establishes accounting standards for state programs.The salary for this position is $110,000/year.
