Description

School Boards establish a vision for the community's schools that reflects a consensus of the board, community and district staff. The school board has a wide variety of additional responsibilities, such as adopting a balanced annual budget and issuing interim financial reports, adopting the school calendar, negotiating contracts with employees, approving curriculum materials and closing or constructing schools.

Primary elections are scheduled, but only held at the discretion of the municipal clerk. Inquire with the clerk as to if the primary election will be held. 2) Complete the required candidacy paperwork including petition requirements, a filing fee, campaign finance forms and other office specific requirements. Next file these papers with the city/village/township clerk. 3) Submit the filing paperwork by the filing window deadline to the city or township clerk in order to appear on the primary ballot in August and/or on the general election ballot in November.
