Description

The Board of Trustees is elected from the district that each Trustee resides in for a four year term and governs on behalf of the citizens of the Community College District. Once a year, the Board selects among its members for positions of President, Vice President and Clerk. The Board is responsible for representing the public interest, establishing policies that define the institutional mission, hiring and evaluating the CEO, assuring fiscal health and stability, and advocating and protecting the district. A current student of the Community College is also elected to the Board for a one year term and this election is conducted by the school itself.

Application Guidelines
To file for this position follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the Santa Monica City Clerk's office to verify that your address qualifies for the position. 2) Obtain the correct filing papers from the clerk. 3) Submit the filing papers within 113-88 days prior to the election.
