Description

The auditor-register of deeds serves as the county's chief accountant and keeper of documents. As auditor, this officer is responsible for budget control and financial reporting, as well as administering elections. As register of deeds, this officer keeps records of real estate transactions and ownership.

Application Guidelines

If you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county auditor. The auditor's office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. Party candidates will need to meet earlier deadlines to participate in the primary.
