Description

The clerk-treasurer fulfills the responsibilities of both the clerk, the custodian of records, and also the treasurer, the county's financial officer. The clerk-treasurer files the county's legislative history and vital records, such as birth and marriage certificates. This officer also bills, collects, and disburses taxes and other county funds.

Application Guidelines

If you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county clerk. The clerk's office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window.
