Description
The prosecuting attorney is the chief prosecutor for the county, representing the government in criminal cases. The prosecuting attorney investigates crimes, decides whether or not to bring charges against suspects, negotiates plea bargains, and tries cases before juries or judges.
Application Guidelines
If you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county election authority, usually the county clerk or elections board. The election authority can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. Party candidates will need to meet earlier deadlines to participate in the primary election.Submit application to:
