The schools superintendent is responsible for education within the county, providing oversight and support to the schools within the district. Duties may include processing or auditing expenditures, educating students who are in detention or outside an organized school district, providing educational or professional development opportunities, and implementing state law.
Application GuidelinesIf you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county elections office. The elections office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. All candidates, regardless of party nomination or preference, are nominated in the primary election. If the incumbent does not file for reelection, the deadline will be extended five days for other candidates.
