Description
The auditor-controller/treasurer-tax collector/public administrator fulfills the duties of several offices mandated by California law. As auditor-controller, this office serves as the county's chief accounting authority, responsible for budget control, financial reporting, and audits of government agencies. As treasurer-tax collector, the office serves as the storehouse of county funds and collects county property taxes. As public administrator, the office manages the estates of those who pass away when there is no other administrator.
Application Guidelines
If you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county elections office. The elections office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. All candidates, regardless of party nomination or preference, are nominated in the primary election. If the incumbent does not file for reelection, the deadline will be extended five days for other candidates.Submit application to:
