Description

The district attorney is the chief prosecutor for the county, representing the government in criminal cases. The district attorney investigates crimes, decides whether or not to bring charges against suspects, negotiates plea bargains, and tries cases before juries or judges.

Application Guidelines
If you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county elections office. The elections office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. All candidates, regardless of party nomination or preference, are nominated in the primary election. If the incumbent does not file for reelection, the deadline will be extended five days for other candidates.
