The auditor-controller-clerk serves both as the county's chief accounting authority and as its custodian of records. As auditor-controller, this office is responsible for budget control, financial reporting, and audits of government agencies. As county clerk, the office maintains the county's legislative history, vital records (such as marriage and birth certificates), and other official documents.
Application GuidelinesIf you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county elections office. The elections office can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. All candidates, regardless of party nomination or preference, are nominated in the primary election. If the incumbent does not file for reelection, the deadline will be extended five days for other candidates.
