Description

The executive is the chief officer of the county's executive branch. The executive manages the county, implementing policy, directing executive staff, and administrating county functions and services.

Application Guidelines

If you would like to be included on the ballot for county office, follow these three steps. 1) Contact the county department of elections. The department can provide information about the availability of filing papers and answer questions regarding nominating petitions and other ballot procedures. 2) Arrange to pick up required paperwork. 3) Return your completed paperwork within the designated filing window. September 1 is the deadline to file as a candidate unaffiliated with any party. Democrat and Republican candidates must adhere to an earlier deadline in July, minor party candidates must be nominated by August 1, and unaffiliated candidates may not circulate petitions to get on the ballot after July 15.
