Description

The Lieutenant Governor of the State of Delaware is an elected constitutional officer, the second ranking officer of the executive branch and the first officer in line to succeed the Governor of Delaware. The lieutenant governor is popularly elected every four years by a plurality. The lieutenant governor also serves as the President of the Delaware State Senate, though they can only issue a vote if there is a tie on any vote. The lieutenant governor also has a constitutionally provided seat on the Delaware Board of Pardons. They have other responsibilities and duties as the Governor shall assign. The salary for this position is $78,553/year.
