Description

The Attorney General of the District of Columbia presides as the highest ranking legal officer in DC, leading the Office of the Attorney General. Primary responsibilities of the position include, the enforcement of DC consumer protection and antitrust laws, civil and criminal prosecution, serving as legal council representing the District in cases of litigation, and developing legal opinions at the request of public officials. The attorney general serves a four-year term, and there is no limit on the number of terms served. The salary for this position is $190,000 per year.
